Depends on the adhesive. Typically that is stated on the bottle or packaging. In the case of the Automotive Goop, it's a full 24hrs.

It might be possible for that version of the grille but I would suspect it will be quite a bit more labor to recreate the rounded edges. Feel free to email for a quote.

It might be technically possible to keep the grille on the bumper to do the mod, but it would be incredibly tough to get a good clean cut.

There's others which are similar that can work, but they will all be around the same price and require the same applicator. On a budget, bondo could work for the repair portion although this may lead to cracking issues later on. For the bonding of the mesh to the frame, Automotive Goop could work but you'll need to be experienced on how to manage that while it cures or else it could run all over the grille and ruin it.

I know this is a negative comment, but that's not a bad idea. I should make a video on that, because many people seem to not understand that I don't spend hours making these grilles by hand for free. If owners don't feel like paying the pre-made price, that's precisely why we offer the do-it-yourself pieces for $69. If you're getting a brand new SRT bumper for under $69, then that's a great deal.

@@customcargrills not negative. Genuinely curious what makes it so much more expensive than just buying an entire SRT bumper at that price point. Making something by hand doesn’t make it more valuable, and I don’t even mean that to be rude. My point I guess is, why spend $800 on 2 grills from you rather than buying an entire OEM SRT bumper? It’s a niche market. And it’s an item that being hand made doesn’t add real value to it, other than how you value your own time and labor, which is fine. But at the end of the day, it just seems like you’re cutting yourself off at the knees by selling something basically custom made, when 95% of the market is looking for a cheaper option to the SRT bumper option. Not one that’s more expensive

Ok, well for just the top grille alone, I need to buy a donor grille just to get started, they aren't sent in by the customer. Sometimes these can be sourced for $60-100 The glue is currently $50+ per cartridge There's roughly $50 in paint supplies I'm going through ~$10 in sandpaper and bondo "Free shipping" on these runs about $30 on average Credit card fees are about $15 Advertising on average is about $25 The mesh piece is $69 So, all and all there's about $309-349 in material cost on the top piece without factoring in wear & tear on tools. That leaves me with $150-ish in profit, but if it takes me 5 hours to complete, then that's $30/hr. Being self employed, that doesn't go very far given that I have to pay my own healthcare and retirement. After taxes, I can make more money flipping burgers than marking these full replacements. That's why they are "expensive".

@@customcargrills I get it. I’ve owned a service based business for 10 years myself. All Im saying is at that price, you’re missing out on a ton of business as evident on any Charger specific forum. Chief complaint is always the price compared to what you can get an SRT bumper for. I personally would love to have one myself, but I can get an SRT bumper cover and have it vinyl wrapped to any color for the same price of just getting the grill. Again, I’m not trying to be a dick, I just hate to see such a great idea that has a sole proprietor in the industry fall short and lose out on more business because it’s not able to be competitive with an OEM option. Have you considered offering the modified grill frame by itself, and then making other styles of grill inserts to mix match? Honeycomb, Denali style, mesh, etc etc could carry all different types of price points and potentially bring in a new crowd interested in the new options.

Well, when it comes to price on the full replacement and it being out of range for owners, that's where the DIY option for $69 comes into play. I'd like to think that most owners could afford the $69 piece for the top and then do the modification themselves; which is why I made this install video in the first place (to teach owners how to make the grille themselves so I didn't need to make it for them). The frame is a very laborious part to make and there's very little profit in making the frame portion. I can make the frames, but they'll yet again be an "expensive" price point due to sourcing new grilles, supplies, and my labor. I'm more motivated to sell affordable mesh pieces, than make full replacement grilles. For most of the grilles on my website, I don't even offer the full replacement option; it's mesh only. I make some exceptions for some models and the Charger is one of them. We'd gladly make more pre-made mesh options is owners are willing to pre-order them in the styles they want. The one style I currently stock these in is an ideal choice for many reasons, and other styles may have some less than ideal aspects to them, such as a higher price, poor fit, or harder installation, but I'll make them if that's what owners want.

The mesh is aluminum. The majority of the GT's do not have the sensor, only a select few do. We note on our website that the mesh is not compatible with sensor equipped models.
